No. Each plugin only works with the specific phone model it is designed for. The P1 plugin only works with the P1. So far no P990 plugin is available.

Smartmovie question :

Does anyone have recomendations on settings for either Visualhub or Handbrake, to encode .avi files for smartmovie viewing on a P990i?

I have used both apps with great success and minimal tweaking to encode movies for the built-in video player, but I just can't get them to work for Smartmovie !

Sony Ericsson have released their own official P990i and W950i iSync Plugins.

Newer and better than those hacked ones.

isn't it plug and play? it is with my k610i and my powerbook with osx 10.4.10

Yes, you take the phone end of the cable and plug it into the phone, then you take the USB end of the cable and plug it into a USB port on your Mac.

Then, on the phone you choose "File Transfer" to mount the memory stick and internal memory on the desktop.
