@Matteus

Sorry i really don't get you, you say the alarm doesn't go off when the battery is low and you are sleeping what possible reason can you have for not charging the battery whilst you sleep? This is just makes no sense as there is no danger of overcharging and surely last thing at night is one of the most logical times to charge a phone whilst you are sleeping and don't need to use it.
@Boba and all

Boba no one is claiming the battery on the N95 is excellent unlike what i would say about the E61 battery as that really isn't excellent. But i am using my device with WiFi for web browsing and E-Mail, listening to 3hrs of Music plus a day watching some Video's and have not had a single low battery warning or run out of power yet. The only function i haven't and don't use is the GPS. If some aren't happy with the battery life just sell the device but seeing as it was well known which battery was in the N95 people should of avoided the device or bought a second battery if needed. Without trying to start a flame war look at all the complaints of the P990 and M600, W950 battery life and thy didn't even ship with the announced battery they were meant to. Put simply as of yet no device is perfect for all although it may be for some, and no one forces anyone to get a certain device do they.

Marc

PS Good to have you back Boba you have been missed will try and see if you are on Fring or Skype later.

probably deliberate? to give E series some "business" advantage?

but a fone like n95, packed with features, would have deserved the "e" concept? next to it, its really annoying is the batt bar bug....

Hi Boba,

On this i really can't agree both the N93 and the N95 and even the N73 are all Multimedia focused smart phones. They are able to perform business like apps especially E-mail they handle really well but i wouldn't want to enter large amounts of data on any of them or really work on text documents although they are more than capable of being used to read them.

Now the E-Series devices are definitely more business and Data entry focused but are also able to more than a decent job with Multimedia. The E90 is the closest so far to achieving both equally as well.

However next Year with the release of the even more powerful OMAP Series 3 chip i do believe we will see the age of the true convergence device emerge where both parts of the smart phone experience will be excellent. Which i why i am eagerly awaiting the true E61 successor so at long last i will be able to have just one device that will satisfy all my needs.

Marc

Here is my experience with my new N95..

First I would suggest to buy it from a shop where you have the chance to try out 4-5 devices before buying, and NOT online.

You have to check the top of the slider when it is closed and then the bottom right corner when the slider is up.
I have checked exactly 10 devices and 3 of them didn't have a loose slider.

Afterwards I have switched the 3 devices on and compared the white 'nokia' screen at startup and chose the one with the brightest and 'whitest' screen and bought it.

After the first recharge I updated the fw fm 11.x to 12.x.
On the first 5-6 charges it lasted only for a day, sometimes even less.

But now it lasts for 2-2,5 days with average usage:

3G switched off
No GPS usage
30-40 mins music
20-30 mins phone calls
30 mins web browsing
checking & downloading e-mails 4-5 times

per day.

nice post. but imo the brands should take more care about built and feature quality, not we... i mean it sounds like i wanna buy apples on a market and wanna choose the nice ones. but its an expensive fone, so come on nokia and put some quality in e and n series at least...

@sapporobaby
The only thing I can complain about concerning the battery is that it's so suddenly drops from 3 bars to 1 bar in no time.

@myth
down here we cant just open phone boxes and test them. im surprised phone shops there, and other countries allow this.

would be good if they did it here though.
