This was not meant for me but I would like to make a general comment nevertheless.
I earned the right to say everything I do about the P990 when I paid for it. I may not be able to make a large dent in SE but surely I will be able to influence a few users to stay away from SE and save themselves the aggravation. Naturally this applies to those with analytical skills, meaning those who can differentiate between what is good or bad for them.
As for the answers we may/may not get from SE, I couldn't care less at this point, they will have the same arrogance and disrespect for their customers - I hope SE will prove me wrong but I know they will not.

@dogmann
Thats why i said it were going to be tiring to clearing things to you?
Because you didnt answer my question straight to the point.
Also its tiring for me anyway to express my comments in english because its not my primary language.

I have to agree with Bambino there.
Dogmann, your comments are awfully tiresome to read. I mean, can't you just get to the point and/or express your opinion in a more brief manner?

This thread should go on for as long as there are people out there who want to vent their frustrations about the p990 debacle. Just as there are threads about individual phones and their features, their problems, accessories, tips and tricks and overall general discussions so to should there be a discussion like this that deals with a company such as

and its behaviour
This p990 debacle runs deep because no sensible solution was offered not that owners should have been given a P1. However this is where Apple was able to capture 28% of the US smart phone market in less than a year over well established players such as

and nokia and palm. Their products just work and they know how to treat customers.
It took me months before I could believe that the p990 was a reasonable phone

SE definitley let the side down with P990 but I think the major problem was the tardiness in response to the problems. Many people who still own P990's are now happy with their handset. But it took many firmware updates, and in some cases replacement handsets to get the P990 right.
SE responded to P1 issues much more quickly and apart from the fact the P1 specs are not to everyone's likings, the phone itself is fine. K850 was a mess, but again many people have K850 handsets with none of the reported bugs (atleast not the major ones), so again we have quality control issues but not necessarily design faults. It seems to me SE is most definitely struggling to keep up the quality of their handsets as they ramp up production of a much larger variety of mobile phones than they have attempted up to now (starting with the Walkman models).
Personally I see it as growing pains, and I'm quite sure that quality will steadily improve to the point where these screwed up first release scenarios we've been getting in SE high end phones will die away.
For those who think it is affecting SE bottom line, maybe to an extent, but take my example of an end user who buys mid range handsets (K700,K750, K800) usually 6 months or so after release and I just don't have any of the angst compared to those who rush out to buy the latest and greatest SE as soon as it's on the market. Most average phone buyers don't rush out to get the latest model as soon as it's available, so while SE is suffering flack for their issues, it's not affecting the majority of paying customers.
I'm not making excuses, I'm just stating a fact. Obviously if I had bought a P990 early on, I wouldn't be happy, but I'd also have taken the phone back and made sure I got my money refunded (most countries have consumer laws that state something must be refunded if the product doesn't work as stated - you just have to stand on your dig in such cases and make sure they give you your money back). Once I got my money back I would have considered the debt squared, I'd have stopped bitching about SE and I would have found another phone to buy (and probably not an SE - if I had returned a P990, I would get a WM phone instead).
Then I would keep a close eye on SE and the forums waiting for the time they bring out an awesome phone that doesn't have problems (or that has settled down after 6 months or so of firmware updates)
To that extent I have to agree with some who say you didn't have to buy the P990. Of course I agree that phones should work as intended, but the forums were full of complaints about P990, that in itself should have been warning enough to anyone considering the P990. I know even if I could have afforded it at the time, I wouldn't have touched it untill the forums showed there were solutions to the problems. I take the same approach to the latest windows releases (I'm still on XP, and happy, but now starting to feel the vista itch)
Now, I'd actually be happy to buy a second hand P990 (provided I could test run it), though I think I'll have to start saving up for a G900 instead

Maybe what SE should have done is follow Apple example by giving discount vouchers to P990 buyers to alleviate the pain.

Then again we wont see this happening with SE dont-care-arrogant-attitude.
There are many manufacturers who made much better smartphone than SE (like Nokia/Samsung/HTC/Apple). So why even bother with SE if you want a high-end smartphone. I think SE just do not have the money or resources to make and support smartphones.
The best thing SE can do is to abandon its smartphone portfolio since it is creating a dispropotionate negative backlash compared to sales. Or it can just rebadge a HTC designed/made phone like the X1.

Anyone for P5?
