pros only come in the size of 256 and 512 not 64. Pros do not work on the p800 at the moment.
Firmware upgrade could and could not address the problem.
moral of the post sit back relax and when pro have been properly released come back and every one who said p800 could accept pro duos have to appologiese to the people who said they wouldnt work!

Has anyone mentioned the march 2003 whitepapers yet?i think they are the latest, and they say
"Memory: Internal, available for applications: 12 MB
Memory Stick Duo: Currently up to 128 MB, but will most likely increase"
I dont know if this means that it will support the Pro memory format , but it shows that the momory is probably expandable with a software upgrade.

Why don't you read the thread properly before posting?
All that's needed for ANY memory stick product is a firmware update for it to take Pro media. The issue is that not all products are upgradable.
The people from MyMemory don't know what they're talking about, and they'll be having a lot of returns when they get stock.
Yes I have read the entire thread..I just want to point out that even IF a product COULD be upgraded it doesn't mean that such an upgrade will ever be available. Do you know more about P800:s adressability capabilities, could this be a limiting factor? (28 bits would be sufficient to address 128MB, sounds like a strange number though, 32 bits would sound more logical..then there's no fear of limited addressability)
And I agree completely on the statement regarding mymemory..too many people here and there talk about compatibility long before anyone has even tried or seen a ms duo pro. So hold your horses for now

Well, that's essentially what I said
As for the addressing capabilities, I expect the firmware update (if there ever is one) will sort that out.
If the firmware ever does get updated, I guess the jacket would work with regular Pro sticks, of which a 1GB version will be available!

I tried to speak with one of the so called people that give you information on sales and shit. Colin was very unhelpful:
"Colin: Hi, my name is Colin. How may I help you?
You: Hi im just wondering if its possible to use the 256MB memory stick pro duo media msx-m256A with a se P800
Colin: Please give me a moment while I get this information for you.
You: ok
... 15 mins later.....
Colin: Thank you for being online, I will be with you shortly.
You: ok cool
.. 10 mins later....
Colin: I am afraid I could not locate information as to whether MSX-M256A is compatible with SE-P800. Please contact a Sony Retailer in your area to find out this information.
You: ok thanx
