@fishbrain120 - I somehow think that is not possible as they ask for your mobile number and it comes up on their screen as to what date you took the contract out.....strange.....and i'm not being bitter it was you who mentioned that we are wrong
Well good luck to you if you managed a tariff downgrade...job well done
@Jazzy - No harm in saving a good £60 ....could get me a bluetooh headset or another 128mb duo ???????
But tell you what, i'm kinda enjoying these free 400 mins....been calling up people i aint chatted to in ages

Why pay more for something than you have too?
Everyone is always looking for a bargain. It's as simple as that.

I assumed the 400 free texts a month for the first three months was on by default but I'll check with customer services when I ring them to set up my DD.
Those texts along with free GPRS until February have made me a very happy bunny. It's well worth me hanging onto the 400 plan until after 3 months... then I'll evaluate what I'm doing with my contracts.

I just rang O2 to give it a go on tariff downgrade and after waited for almost 20 mins, I've been told to call a different number as my number is from a different service provider where I assume this is because I bought my P900 from CPW.
I read somewhere on esato that CPW is the service provider and your contract is bound by them as well if you buy an 02 here. So no joy of downgrading where I suppose I'll stick to £45/ 400mins Xnet for 6 months with CPW.

Just been on to o2 now to have a 2nd attempt at dropping my tariff down 3 days after purchasing, and this time it all went through no problems. Very helpfull guy went through the details of the £15 a month tariff, confirmed i would still get free gprs (which is the only thing i will be using that account for) and changed me over.
Will give it until the free gprs offer is over and then cancel and pay out my contract, = p900 for ~£200.

@ariddell
so there was no talk of some kind of penalty because your phone was free? surely they can't do it without warning? keep us posted.
i haven't even tried downgrading yet - but i will in a few days. it seems like a case of if you fail try try again! - just depends on who you get to talk to

Yeah, he certainly didn't mention that there would be one and i wasn't going to ask and therefore make an issue of the fact that i had only just signed up. Will no doubt find out when my first bill comes through with the updated plan, although i'm sure since the new plan doesnt come into effect until the bill is issued if they are intending to charge i could get them to drop it if i agree to go back on the £45 until the 3 months is up anyway.

I just called and tried to downgrade and the lady on the line asked me when did I take the contract and she checked her system and said its on the 6th of dec and hence you have to wait three months. I started nothing on the T&C and stuff she said sorry couldn't help. lol
@Airiddell
Which number did you call then?
