Hello etoeto,

I think you should go for the R520m, it's a very nice classic phone, I have some of them, they are reliable and have more functions that the R320s series.....don't know what other people in this forum think about it...

@etoeto

yes the R320s was for the european market, you saw a green one? strange, I thought they were made only in red and blue.....mybe I am wrong.

The R520m is better for writing sms I think, it has soft keypads, you can write quickly with them, they seem to be slightly bigger than the ones from the R320s. Battery time...don't know, normally the R520m lasts longer....I made the experience.

You can visit my webside if you want, got some nice pics of both R520 and R320

Two differences:

- The colour of the keypad
- GF197 black print on white keys
- GF198 white print on black keys

- The battery-management
GF197
Standyby 15 hours
Speech 2,5 hours

GF198
Standy 30 hours
Speech 3 hours

Yes, by removing the modem you downgrade your SH888 to a S868. Both phones have identical boards and firmware. Put the modem interface into a S868 and it will work.

Even the IRDA-receiver is on a S868 board though there is no IRDA window in the front cover. The only further difference between both phones is that you need a small firmware patch for S868 to enable the IRDA menu.
