Do you know what happend with the R580? the R380 with colorscreen?
This is the only pic I could find and the information i could find Ericsson was days from showing it for the public so it had do be at least some protos of it.

@all,
My R380e i believe have never been sold in a store, itīs missing the the big sticker with all the barcodes but it has the Swedish language and the Swedish usermanual

Now help me,what does every word in the model name stands for? does anyone have a list?

F = Flip
G = GSM
N = NMT
S
H
P
T
Z
C = China
S
A
P
WORLD
I
s
m
e
A

And so on, do anyone know?

Hello Stolleman, Ericsson friend!

I have never heard about the R580, are you sure that it existed in reality? About the model names, I think this is mainly a question of the network, I am not sure at all, sorry....but I would like to know it too...

Paris and the R380e.....tomorrow morning till Sunday evening, hope I can take some good pics there for you

I just had a sort of 'confirmation' from a spokesman from the old Ericsson periode that the R580 excisted..

@Robis: I have genuine Ericsson parts... But unfortunately I don't have a spare golden T68m...

I didn't think I could say something you didn't know bucheral, about Ericsson

The only thing I can find about R580 is articles from the swedish site mobil.se.

I'll use Google translate swedish to english for these articles

article 1:
18 June
Just like Mobil said before today will thus upgrading the company's Communicator, R380. The new communicator has a color screen and is a GPRS phone.
Photos and more information will be within one hour here on mobil.se.

article 2:
18 June
Many believed that Ericsson would choose to show off R580 today, but we must then wait a while before it is displayed to the public. But people from Ericsson has confirmed to us at Mobile that R580 will be presented shortly.

article 3:
19 June
Shortly before the press conference yesterday, got Mobile information from multiple sources that a new communicator with a color screen and GPRS would be presented in conjunction with Ericsson's view.
A few minutes before the press conference starts met Mobil correspondent Brian Dixen an Ericsson employee from Denmark and we asked the question:
- We have heard that you are within minutes to present a new communicator, R580 with a color screen and GPRS. Is it true?
- It is amazing how well informed you are about this, who have you talked to?
Someone R580 never presented during the press conference, but after the display when the A3618 was shown confirmed several people on the Ericsson R580 to exist, but that it still is not ready for presentation.

So i believe they had at least some protos, it sound that they were only weeks from releasing it

what a lucky bunch you guys there in europe having still access to those iconic ericsson phones. keep preserving those precious Ericsson phones. i missed badly my r320, r520, r380, t39, t65, t20, r310, sh868 and gf788. those were the days. here in the philippines nowadays, it is a rarity to find a working Ericsson unit.
keep it up guys!
